Many people choose the Traverse City area for their wedding because it's just, well, beautiful. Just about everywhere you turn there's scenic views everywhere. And Emma and Michael chose one of the prettiest views in the area: the Lake Michigan Overlook at Sleeping Bear Dunes. If you've never been, it's this massive 500ft sand dune on the shores of Lake Michigan that has unparalleled views, sand for miles, and rolling hills of beach…
One super special wedding we had the privilege of photographing last summer was Lindsey and Conner's sweet family tying the knot at Mackinac Island's Mission Point Resort. We blogged this wedding before (if you scroll past entries you'll see it!) and I am SO happy to have this wedding featured on Big Love Small Weddings today! From their fudge cake to the carriage ride around the pretty spots on the island, this wedding was everything an intimate destination wedding (for them!) could be. Northern Michigan is so beautiful and Mackinac Island just provided the absolute perfect backdrop for their nautical themed wedding.

If I had to pick a title for this day, I'd call it the "vow renewal to end all vow renewals." Quin and Donny are already married. With 3 gorgeous children. And were coming up on their 10 year anniversary. Quin had messaged me about how she wanted to have a "wedding" vow renewal and the ideas she had for that. This couple had originally gotten married in a very small ceremony and didn't have all the fancy celebration that a wedding day typically entails. But, 10 years later, she was more in love with her husband than ever before and they wanted...
Summer in Northern Michigan is absolutely spectacular. It's the *perfect* temperature, low humidity (I mean, for the most part!) with endless beaches and water, pine forests, and much to see and do. Bailey and Ty's wedding on Drummond Island this past summer was like a wonderful family party. Partly because they have ties to Drummond Island so it was like seeing all the family members come back home for a celebration. And partly because their families and wedding party were SO FUN!
