That first snowfall of winter is a magical time in Northern Michigan. Fall is winding down and everyone is in anticipation of those first flakes. It's the *perfect* time for an engagement session as true cold temperatures haven't settled into winter yet, the snows aren't deep (mostly!) and there's no better reason to cuddle a little closer. We shot just about one...

I am SO excited to have Ryan and Nicole's blustery engagement session featured on Popsugar today!! This was such an amazing engagement session where they braved the brutal cold and wind coming from Lake Superior (and even Nicole in one heck-of-a dress!) and had a stunning session. Check out the feature below!!
I first met Ryan and Nicole in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was the evening before we were scheduled to shoot a wedding and we had met up with that bride and groom at the hotel with their wedding party, family, and friends for a few drinks. We were chatting about how excited we were for the next day's wedding and just general conversation and Ryan (who at the time was only dating Nicole) mentioned to us about how he was planning on proposing to Nicole in...
Haley and Sam are two amazing people that together make such a beautiful couple. Haley was one of my first 2017 weddings to book, so we've been looking forward to this engagement session for a few months now. When she mentioned doing the session at Presque Isle in Marquette, Michigan, I knew this would be an amazing session. I mean, Presque Isle is one of my FAVORITES to shoot at (I've blogged several sessions from there, you can totally see why!) and always love the chance to shoot there whenever possible. But also, I knew this session would be wonderful from corresponding with Haley these...
I love when a session with my clients gets published, and today it is one of our favorites of Joe and Teja in the gorgeous Marquette, Michigan. Thank you so much to Brown Sparrow Weddings for the feature...more
Teja contacted me mid-February inquiring about an engagement session with her and her fiance, Joe, and I loved the though of doing their winter engagement session at the Presque Isle in Marquette, one of the places they brought up as a location. Always a favorite of mine, for sure! Teja was visiting Joe from Minnesota, and like most sessions where they had a small window for the session so fingers were crossed the weather would cooperate for us. The morning of the session it was gorgeous. Sunny, and not a cloud in the sky! But it was COLD! On the way to the session my car registered below zero, but thankfully but the start of the session it had warmed up into the 20's. Still cold, but that sun did feel amazing!!
I love all the weddings we do...from the big to the small, the elaborate to simple. I think my brides all do an amazing job at making their weddings just the way they want and I love capturing it all. So when I get to tell my bride that their amazing wedding is being featured at theknot.com, that is even more amazing for the both of us!
Check out or recent wedding we did in Marquette, Michigan along Lake Superior. It was so special and wonderful. Full blog post is a few posts down on our page, but you can catch the "full" story from the bride and groom HERE on theknot.com
Emily, class of 2016! This gorgeous girl is all the way from Green Bay, and wanted to have her senior pictures done in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I don't blame her...I get to live in one of the purest, most gorgeous places in the world! A photographer's dream, for sure. We did her session while she was up visiting family and friends in the Marquette area. We varied her session with a few different locations and she was just glowing in all of them. Here are some of my favorites...
Allison and Brad's wedding couldn't have been more perfect...a small, intimate wedding with their closest family and friends, saying "I do" in one of the most beautiful places in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on a gorgeous summer evening was picture perfect. This was a shorter wedding for us, but one of our favorites!
