Lindsey and Connor's wedding day was a glorious Northern Michigan summer day. They selected Mission Point Resort and the AMAZING Mackinac Island for their love story celebration and it was perfect in every way! From the nautical decor, to the happy tears from family and friends, to the slab of fudge instead...
Sometimes during an engagement session, you have a couple who are just perfect together. I mean, JUST PERFECT. That was the case with Casey and Del. These two know the hardships of a long-distance relationship, with much over their time spent with a literal ocean between them, so the time they do spend together is extra special...and I could see that in every aspect of their engagement session.
We had an amazing time wandering around Marquette, Michigan for their session! So many laughs, lots of cuddles, and the most perfect Northern Michigan summer evening. I was super excited to share some from this session, but waited till the couple "officially" became engaged...about a month or two after their photo shoot. So, instead of posting a ton on our facebook page, I'll just make a blog post about it, yay!
You know you have the best couples ever when photographing them has you feeling like you are just hanging out with two of your old friends. I never want any of my sessions to end, I always have a great time with my couples, but I might have cried a little bit inside when Jocelyn and Tanner's session came to a close! From laughing and talking almost non-stop, our adventures around the island was the perfect way to highlight this couple's...
Brides and Grooms! I wanted to take a moment to share an amazing resource available for my amazing couples planning their weddings in the gorgeous Northern Michigan area! Teja contacted me mid-February inquiring about an engagement session with her and her fiance, Joe, and I loved the though of doing their winter engagement session at the Presque Isle in Marquette, one of the places they brought up as a location. Always a favorite of mine, for sure! Teja was visiting Joe from Minnesota, and like most sessions where they had a small window for the session so fingers were crossed the weather would cooperate for us. The morning of the session it was gorgeous. Sunny, and not a cloud in the sky! But it was COLD! On the way to the session my car registered below zero, but thankfully but the start of the session it had warmed up into the 20's. Still cold, but that sun did feel amazing!!
Tania and Mike's engagement session was in one of my favorite places in Michigan: Mackinac Island. There's so many amazing spots on the island, so when Tania contacted me inquiring about an engagement session there, I was thrilled! Since they are not from the area and just taking a weekend for visiting, fingers were crossed for great weather...and it was. REALLY crazy windy, but overall not bad. However, Tania was under the weather with a really awful cold (which was diagnosed as pneumonia the next day!) but even with being so sick, she just ROCKED thru it! I mean, look how amazing she looks in these images?! I'm just so happy for these two and am so excited for their wedding day this coming September.
Joe and Krista's wedding day this past summer was as perfect as you can plan for. Their wedding (held on the shores of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, MI) was sunny and warm, and perfect for all their guests who came in to town to celebrate. The two themselves do not live in the Upper Peninsula, but wanted to have their wedding in Grand Marais, and I was so overjoyed the day started so perfect for them! But this story does have a few curve balls thrown in...continue reading quite the wedding day story!
Continuing my blogging of past sessions from this summer and fall, I'm so excited to be sharing some favorites from Eric and Erica's beautiful engagement! This couple is having their wedding in my hometown, and wanted the session on some of Erica's family property. It was perfection...the day, the couple, the locations. I just loved every second of these two and while I didn't include any below, there was SO many fun and goofy moments that I cannot wait to continue with their spring wedding in a few months!

We hare having the time of our lives here, but cannot wait for our upcoming sessions with our wonderful bride and grooms/families/seniors!
This past summer, I had the honor of photographing Kory and Chelsea for their engagement session in Marquette, Michigan. It was a gorgeous day and we started off shooting at downtown Marquette and ending up down by Lake Superior. They are a beautiful couple, and their wedding day coming up later this year is going to be even more perfect than this gorgeous engagement.
This Upper Peninsula wedding we were honored to photograph this past summer in Curtis, Michigan was gorgeous. Like, a fairytale. All the details, and the reception tent by itself was just about a castle! But the icing on the cake was the beautiful couple...Emily and Josh are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and I loved getting to photograph their winter engagement to this perfect wedding day.
