Earlier this summer, before the 4th of July hits and all of Traverse City and the surrounding areas becomes tourist central, we ventured out to the Sleeping Bear Dunes with Alexa and Jake for their engagement session. It was just SO perfect. There were a few…

That first snowfall of winter is a magical time in Northern Michigan. Fall is winding down and everyone is in anticipation of those first flakes. It's the *perfect* time for an engagement session as true cold temperatures haven't settled into winter yet, the snows aren't deep (mostly!) and there's no better reason to cuddle a little closer. We shot just about one...
Kendall and Chase are absolutely a couple after my own heart. They love adventure (they've traveled all over the world together...even getting engaged in Paris!) and trying new things so when Kendall said they've never visited Traverse City, I knew...
I just recently blogged about a Mackinac Island engagement session we had this past summer and it got me thinking to the amazing weddings we photographed there this summer as well. So obviously I need to share some of Sarah and Padric's gorgeous wedding day!! Their wedding was held at the amazing...
I cannot say how much I love when client families turn into wonderful relationships. I've been able to work with member's of Jimmy's family now for a number of weddings and sessions and his family are some of the best people I know. So when these two got engaged and contacted me about photographing their wedding, I was SO SO SO happy! That, and the fact...
Sometimes during an engagement session, you have a couple who are just perfect together. I mean, JUST PERFECT. That was the case with Casey and Del. These two know the hardships of a long-distance relationship, with much over their time spent with a literal ocean between them, so the time they do spend together is extra special...and I could see that in every aspect of their engagement session.
We had an amazing time wandering around Marquette, Michigan for their session! So many laughs, lots of cuddles, and the most perfect Northern Michigan summer evening. I was super excited to share some from this session, but waited till the couple "officially" became engaged...about a month or two after their photo shoot. So, instead of posting a ton on our facebook page, I'll just make a blog post about it, yay!
I first met Ryan and Nicole in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was the evening before we were scheduled to shoot a wedding and we had met up with that bride and groom at the hotel with their wedding party, family, and friends for a few drinks. We were chatting about how excited we were for the next day's wedding and just general conversation and Ryan (who at the time was only dating Nicole) mentioned to us about how he was planning on proposing to Nicole in...
The best thing in the world is when clients turn friends. I've had the immense pleasure of photographing the Lemanski family numerous times starting in the fall of 2015 when I photographed Matt's sister and her fiancé for their engagement session. Soon after that session, Emma and Matt got engaged and I was beyond thrilled to also book them for their wedding in Minnesota for...
I first got in touch with Emma and Matt thru Matt's sister and her fiancé (you can see their amazing engagement session HERE) when they were looking for a photographer once they became engaged. I was SO excited that Emma and Matt wanted their engagement session done in the Upper Peninsula AND in the winter. I seriously love everything about the spring/summer/fall, but there's something about a winter engagement session, and in Michigan no less, that's perfect in every way. I love that it's such a contrast from their Minnesota wedding later this...
Joe and Krista's wedding day this past summer was as perfect as you can plan for. Their wedding (held on the shores of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, MI) was sunny and warm, and perfect for all their guests who came in to town to celebrate. The two themselves do not live in the Upper Peninsula, but wanted to have their wedding in Grand Marais, and I was so overjoyed the day started so perfect for them! But this story does have a few curve balls thrown in...continue reading quite the wedding day story!
New Years Day is a great day to start out a new year with celebration. And a perfect day to say "I Do." The full blog post is coming on this one (soon!) but for now, enjoy a few of the images from a gorgeous holiday wedding <3
We started out at the ceremony location, St. Gregory's in Newberry, Michigan, a gorgeous place to be in the Upper Peninsula in the middle of winter!
This next image I love because it was literally ONE minute after that kiss at the alter (above). So perfectly happy!!
The next two images are super special because A) this is on my family property and B) the bride had a pinterest page with images just like this...the tall trees...and I was so thrilled to let her know I had *just* the spot. Oh, and C) this road is not plowed during the winter but it has been so mild out the snow wasn't super deep yet and thanks to one of the groom's relatives with a large truck, we made it!
My fave...how gorgeous are these ladies?!
A few moments, in their newlywed world, just the two of them <3
